Key Responsibilities- Curriculum Development: Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with the district's standards and goals, and ensures that students receive a well-rounded education in the visual arts.
- Lesson Planning: Plan and deliver engaging and interactive lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Instructional Delivery: Teach a range of art subjects, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and printmaking, and provide individualized instruction to students as needed.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Assess student progress and evaluate the effectiveness of instructional strategies, making adjustments as necessary to ensure student success.
- Classroom Management: Create and maintain a safe, organized, and respectful learning environment that promotes student engagement and motivation.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed.
- Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in art education and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Art Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Certification: Valid Idaho teaching certification with a secondary endorsement in Art or a comparable out-of-state certification.
- Experience: Prior teaching experience in art education, preferably in a secondary setting.
The Art Teacher will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that requires flexibility, creativity, and a commitment to student success. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team setting, communicate effectively with students and colleagues, and adapt to changing circumstances as needed.
