Job Summary

The Good Samaritan Society is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Assistant - Certified to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional care and support to our residents, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.

Responsibilities
  • Provide resident-centered care, including daily living assistance, bathing, toileting, grooming, and dressing/undressing.
  • Assist with basic health care needs, including vital sign collection, and provide psychosocial support.
  • Transfer, reposition, and walk residents using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment.
  • Participate in food preparation and dining, creating a positive experience for residents.
  • Document resident interactions and outcomes related to care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
  • Communicate resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
  • Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs.
  • Provide housekeeping and laundry services to maintain living areas.
  • Participate in wellness and recreational programs, encouraging resident participation.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred.
  • Minimum age of 16.
  • Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
  • Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position.
  • Satisfactorily completes yearly department-specific competency testing and maintains a record of continuing education credits.
