We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our team at the Good Samaritan Society. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.

Job Summary

The Nursing Assistant serves as a caregiver to residents during scheduled work periods in long-term care. You will provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). Your knowledge of and delivery of age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of residents will be essential in this role.

Responsibilities
  • Provide assistance with basic health care needs, including daily living activities such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and obtaining and recording vital signs.
  • Assist residents with meals and snacks, provide water and supplements as appropriate.
  • Document resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, behavior, activity, and dietary.
  • Communicate resident's changing condition and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
  • Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens and gather vital signs.
  • Provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents with keeping living areas clean and operational.
  • Participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.
Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with a high school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred, but not required. A minimum age of 16 and prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care are preferred. Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement.
