Senior Fund Accountant

Carta is a leading provider of fund administration software, serving nearly 7,000 funds and SPVs with assets under management of nearly $130B in venture capital and private equity.
The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Fund Accountant to join our Implementation Accounting team. As a Fund Accountant, you will play a critical role in supporting new Fund Administration customers in their journey into Carta services. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Liaising between Sales and Fund Accounting teams to ensure seamless onboarding of new fund clients
- Interacting with fund back offices to collect historical accounting data, provide advisory support, and deliver accurate financial statements
- Booking and reconciling accounting books and records from unstructured client data
- Resolving escalations related to data migration, historical accounting discrepancies, and client onboarding issues
- Managing customer onboarding for medium to high complexity new clients, including timelines, customer expectations, and compliance procedures
- Building strong client relationships and providing a white-glove experience
- Identifying process and quality improvements, assisting with internal reviews, Quality Assurance, and training junior team members
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Fund Accountant with a strong background in accounting and finance. The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in the Venture Capital Fund Administration environment
- Strong accounting analysis skills, with the ability to interpret unstructured data and reproduce Financial Statements correctly
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines
- Passion for growing and advancing with Carta
- Proven internal influencer with experience in implementing and managing projects or initiatives with sustained, measurable success
Carta offers a competitive compensation package, including a market-competitive salary, equity for all full-time roles, exceptional benefits, and commissions plans for applicable roles. Our minimum cash compensation range for this role is $102,000 - $120,000 in San Francisco, CA, Santa Clara, CA, and New York, NY, and $96,900 - $114,000 in Seattle, WA.
