Job Summary

Williamson Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Hospitalist to join our team. As a Hospitalist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, cost-effective, and evidence-based medical care to hospitalized patients. You will also be responsible for coordinating care for patients at discharge and facilitating hand-off to outpatient physicians.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, evaluate, and clinically manage patients to provide the level of care required by current clinical standards and operational efficiency.
  • Provide active management of patient conditions through diagnostic, preventative, and therapeutic medical services.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to determine the best care plan for hospitalized patients and initiate/oversee plans to meet patient needs.
  • Facilitate timely admission, discharge, and transfer of patients.
  • Provide information, education, and support to patients and their family members, including involving them in care planning.
  • Prescribe or recommend pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies, including controlled medications.
  • Consult with appropriate physicians for patient care needs and refer patients to appropriate sources of care as required.
  • Communicate with primary care physicians or specialists as needed during admission and at discharge for optimal continuum of care.
  • Participate in achieving patient safety goals, quality measures, clinical outcomes, and financial performance consistent with Williamson Health objectives.
Requirements
  • Current licensure by the State of Tennessee as a medical doctor or osteopathic physician.
  • Current DEA number.
  • Able to demonstrate leadership, managerial ability, good interpersonal relationships, and apply sound administrative principles.
  • Board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Current ACLS certification.

Williamson Medical Center is a 203-bed hospital located in Franklin, Tennessee, and is part of the Williamson Health system. We offer comprehensive in-patient and out-patient services and have over 825 providers representing over 70 medical specialties and sub-specialties.
