Maintenance Technician Job Description

At Acadia Healthcare, we are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our domestic water supply and distribution system, including hot water systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair fire alarm systems/devices, sprinkler system, and related equipment, and test and document testing of system as necessary.
  • Maintain and repair electrical equipment and systems as necessary.
  • Maintain and repair HVAC systems and related equipment.
  • Perform drywall repair and painting as required.
  • Maintain suspended ceiling systems, including fire-rated assemblies.
  • Perform carpentry and other remodeling or repair work as necessary.
  • Purchase maintenance supplies and equipment as needed for inventory.
  • Exercise and maintain emergency generator and document testing.
  • Perform plumbing maintenance and repairs on domestic lines and waste systems.
  • Maintain and repair all hospital equipment.
  • Maintain hospital grounds, including landscaping maintenance and snow removal.
  • Perform and document tests and reports on mechanical devices, hot water tanks, plumbing systems, electrical appliances, and HVAC units, and complete other maintenance reports as necessary.
  • When available, perform general cleaning of patient areas, offices, rest rooms, bathrooms, nurse's station, etc.
  • Receive, count, sort, order, and distribute linens for patient areas.
  • Assist unit staff in patient restraint as required.
  • Collect and transport various types of waste, including municipal, infectious, and recyclable, in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Clean patient areas upon discharge in preparation for incoming patients.
  • Maintain current knowledge of all cleaning products and chemicals, and the safe application of such material.
  • Participate in the implementation and monitoring of quality assurance and quality improvement programs for area of responsibility.
  • Maintain current knowledge of and promote safety within the department, including insight into the development of department policies and procedures.
  • Identify, report, and respond to unsafe conditions within the hospital or its grounds in an immediate fashion.
  • Participate in own performance process.
  • Maintain competence in identified universal, core, and critical competencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School/GED or better.
  • 1 year of experience as a Maintenance Technician.
