Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at JPS Health Network. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for operating magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.
  • Position and immobilize patients on the exam table and observe during scans.
  • Monitor video displays of the area being scanned and adjust density or contrast to improve picture quality.
  • Review and evaluate computer-generated information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
  • Screen and interview patients using designated MRI patient clinical assessment forms.
  • Administer IV contrast with proper dosage according to patient weight and document dosage in permanent records.
  • Perform and document quality control on equipment according to manufacturer guidelines or department protocols.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment with all necessary supplies needed to perform studies and procedures in exam rooms.
  • Maintain yearly competency, mandatory district education, professional certification, state licensure, and education requirements.
Requirements
  • Completion of an AMA-approved school of Radiology Technology.
  • At least one year of experience in medical imaging.
  • Certified MRI or MRI certified eligible; must obtain within 12 months of hire date.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Certified by the State of Texas as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) or registry eligible and must obtain certification within 12 months of date of hire.
  • Current JPS recognized BLS certification and must be maintained throughout employment.
