Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration team as a Nurse Coordinator. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring the well-being of our nation's veterans.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct patient care rounds to evaluate patient care and provide feedback to nursing staff.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Provide education and training to nursing staff on patient care best practices.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Working Conditions

This position requires visual acuity, keen hearing, clear distinctive speech, and manual dexterity. The incumbent may be exposed to infected patients and contaminated materials and may be required to don protective clothing in isolation situations or operative/invasive procedures, or home settings.
