We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Material Handler. Below are the responsibilities and qualifications required for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily operations within the distribution yard.
- Perform tasks related to receiving, storing, and shipping materials.
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Verify that loads match orders before dispatching vehicles.
- Engage in customer service activities as needed.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of building materials and warehouse processes.
- Maintain alertness and adaptability to warehouse routines.
- Utilize basic mathematical skills for calculations.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization in the work area.
- Adhere to safety protocols and comply with OSHA regulations.
- Exhibit a strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements: High School Diploma, GED, or two years of relevant work experience. Ability to understand and communicate safety and work-related instructions is essential. The role involves working in a warehouse environment with significant physical demands and exposure to various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with building materials and engineered wood products is advantageous. Ability to measure lengths of materials accurately is preferred. General warehouse experience, including industrial forklift operation, is also beneficial.
