Senior Manager, State and Local Tax Compliance

At KPMG, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager to join our State and Local Tax (SALT) practice. As a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for leading multi-state companies with state and local income tax compliance.
Responsibilities:- Work with multi-state companies with state and local income tax compliance
- Act as part of a multi-disciplinary team helping to provide subject matter industry knowledge and experience
- Review information presented on state income and franchise tax estimated payments before, during and after preparation
- Build and manage client relationships, and supervise, mentor, and develop staff
- Monitor risk and financial performance of engagements including billing, collections, and project budgets
- Collaborate with other professionals to identify new marketplace opportunities and grow the KPMG tax practice
- Minimum eight years of recent experience with state income tax compliance for corporations, partnerships, or pass-through entities, providing technical advice on multi-state tax issues
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related field of study from an accredited college/university; licensed CPA, JD/LLM, EA or MTX, in addition to others on KPMG's approved credential listing
- Experience providing services to public companies and a solid knowledge of relevant state tax concepts
- Ability to foster relationships both internally as well as with clients and desire to perform in a high-energy team environment
- Experience mentoring and counseling staff level team members
- Excellent writing, compliance, communication, management, and tax compliance skills
