Job Summary

The Maintenance Planner is a critical role within our Operations team, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facilities. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be accountable for improving technician productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor, parts, material, and equipment access.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and Coordinate Maintenance Activities: Prioritize, schedule, and coordinate maintenance activities in assigned areas to ensure minimal downtime and optimal equipment performance.
  • Labor Utilization and Skills Management: Determine the best labor utilization and skills practices for each job to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Facilitate communication between production, sanitation, and maintenance departments to ensure seamless coordination and minimize disruptions.
  • Estimation and Scheduling: Provide estimated time and costs for planning purposes to ensure accurate budgeting and resource allocation.
  • Work Breakdown Procedures: Create new work breakdown procedures to support the preventative maintenance process and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Work Request Validation: Review and validate all planned work requests to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Material Management: Order necessary repair materials to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Assist in diagnosing maintenance issues and schedule repairs to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
  • Purchase Requisitions and Expedited Delivery: Prepare purchase requisitions and expedite delivery of products and services to ensure timely receipt of critical materials.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure adequate parts availability and inventory levels to support maintenance activities.
  • CMMS Data Analysis: Provide analysis and reporting from CMMS data to identify equipment performance patterns and trends.
  • Technical Support: Support Operations as a technical resource to provide guidance and expertise on maintenance-related matters.
  • Continuous Improvement: Provide continuous improvement recommendations to enhance maintenance processes and procedures.
  • PM Development and OEE: Assist in the development of PMs, predictive maintenance, and OEE to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
  • Performance Metrics and Reporting: Track important performance indicators and metrics to ensure accurate measurement and evaluation of maintenance activities.
  • CMMS Training: Provide training to technicians on CMMS systems to ensure effective use and maximize benefits.
  • Safety and Compliance: Follow Chobani's safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Additional Duties: Conduct other duties as assigned by Manager to support the success of the Operations team.
Requirements
  • Manufacturing Maintenance Experience: 2+ years of manufacturing maintenance, purchasing, or related experience.
  • CMMS Experience: 2+ years' experience with computerized maintenance management programs.
  • Mechanical/Electrical Background: Mechanical/electrical background with knowledge of troubleshooting and repair techniques.
  • Apprenticeship or Certification: Apprenticeship program, certification, or technical school is desirable.
  • Communication and Organizational Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated organizational and planning skills.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Project is desirable.
  • Blueprint and Drawing Reading: Ability to read blueprints and process drawings.
  • CMMS and EAM Experience: Prior working knowledge/experience of CMMS and EAM systems is preferred.
