Key Responsibilities
Overview:
As a Packaging Procurement Analyst, you will be instrumental in enhancing our procurement processes for packaging materials.
Your role will involve close collaboration with various teams, utilizing your expertise to implement effective sourcing strategies, manage supplier partnerships, and drive cost-efficient procurement within your designated categories.
You will oversee an annual spend of $50-$75 million in your area of responsibility.Cost Optimization & Value Addition:
Manage the procurement cycle for packaging materials, ensuring timely and economical acquisition.
Implement cost-saving initiatives through value analysis and negotiation tactics.
Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, design) to ensure packaging specifications are optimized for both cost-effectiveness and functionality.
Establish best practices in contract management, ensuring adherence to terms and conditions.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to align packaging needs with procurement strategies.
Risk Mitigation & Supply Chain Continuity:
Identify potential risks within the packaging supply chain and implement corrective measures to ensure uninterrupted service.
Integrate sustainable practices into the procurement process, focusing on material recyclability and responsible sourcing.Stay informed about industry regulations to ensure compliance with all relevant packaging standards.
Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management:
Develop and execute sourcing strategies in collaboration with the Procurement Manager/Director for your assigned categories.
Conduct market analysis to identify and evaluate new suppliers based on cost, quality, sustainability, and service capabilities.
Manage relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and driving continuous improvements in pricing, quality, and innovation.
Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms regarding pricing, delivery, quality, and service level agreements (SLAs).
Conduct evaluations of supplier performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary actions.
Maintain a diverse supplier base to mitigate risks and ensure a steady supply.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree is required.
Minimum of 1 year of procurement experience with a strong foundation in sourcing and negotiation.
Experience in utilizing performance metrics and root cause analysis techniques is essential.
Project management experience, including budget oversight, is required.
Experience in packaging procurement, including negotiation, sourcing, RFP/RFQ management, contract development, and vendor management is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong collaborative skills within a team environment.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) with an emphasis on clarity and conciseness.
Strategic mindset with a solid understanding of business principles related to cost optimization.
