Job Title: Data Warehouse Analyst

Job Summary:

As a Data Warehouse Analyst, you will be the backbone of our data-driven decision-making process, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our data infrastructure is top-notch. Your expertise will help us optimize data storage and access methods, enabling our stakeholders to make informed decisions effectively.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain data warehouse solutions to support the Iowa Department of Transportation's analytical and business reporting needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, identify data sources, and ensure accurate integration into the data warehouse.
  • Develop project-specific FME applications incorporating data from Bureaus, field staff, and consultant work products.
  • Create and optimize ETL processes to ensure efficient and reliable data flow from various systems into the data warehouse.
  • Perform data profiling, cleansing, and validation to maintain high levels of data integrity and quality across all datasets.
  • Develop and implement effective data models, schemas, and queries that facilitate advanced analytics and decision-making capabilities.
  • Manage and monitor data warehouse performance, identifying and resolving any issues or bottlenecks to enhance overall system efficiency.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users, ensuring they have the necessary tools and knowledge to utilize data warehouse resources effectively.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with demonstrated experience equal to three years of full-time work accomplishing activities related to formal or informal data warehousing decision support systems.
  • Experience should include both technical and non-technical activities, including integrating mapping data needs, data flows, and business processes.
  • Substitution of experience for the required undergraduate college education on the basis of one year of qualifying experience is equivalent to one year of undergraduate education.
  • Substitution of twenty-four hours of graduate-level course work in a special program curriculum such as Social Work, Public Policy, or Business Administration or related field for each year of the required experience.
