About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Department Coordinator to join our team at TJ Maxx. As a key member of our store operations team, you will be responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates are processing efficiently and effectively, and working as a team to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Experience: Create a positive internal and external customer experience by engaging and interacting with all customers, and maintaining a clean and organized store.
  • Merchandising and Processing: Orchestrates truck delivery, prioritizing the processing of merchandise onto the sales floor, and ensures merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
  • Team Management: Trains and mentors Associates on established merchandising and processing principles, monitors productivity of team, and coaches as necessary.
  • Store Operations: Ensures Associates complete tasks and activities according to store plan, prioritizes as needed, and maintains all organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the backroom area.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensures compliance with recycling and, where applicable, hazardous waste programs, and promotes safety awareness and maintains a safe environment.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1 year retail and 6 months of leadership experience.
  • Skills: Superior communication and organizational skills with attention to detail, capable of multi-tasking, and a team player with the ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.
  • Physical Demands: Able to lift heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation.
