Our mission is to empower children and their families to achieve their fullest potential through innovative applied behavioral analysis therapies, recreational opportunities, vocational training, and tailored educational programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute educational activities aligned with IEP objectives, ensuring they are suitable and engaging for each student.
- Establish daily and weekly schedules tailored to individual student needs.
- Gather and assess IEP goal data, making necessary adjustments to ensure student progress.
- Prepare evaluations and current performance levels for IEP meetings, contributing to the formulation of appropriate IEP goals.
- Oversee and mentor classroom aides and educational specialists.
- Maintain organized classroom documentation, including student files and lesson plans.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress and educational activities.
- Exemplify appropriate behavior and respect towards students and staff.
Qualifications
- Possession of a valid Illinois teaching license.
- Valid LBS 1 certification or eligibility for short-term emergency approval.
- Valid Illinois driver's license.
- Compliance with all licensing standards set by the Department of Human Services and the Department of Child and Family Services.
Preferred Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Special Education Teacher.
- Prior experience in a supervisory role.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
