Job Overview

Role Objective: The primary focus of this position is to assess and improve existing electrical designs, aiming to optimize material usage, dimensions, and costs through advanced application devices. The role involves innovating concepts and technologies for both current and future product lines. Collaboration with Sales, Engineering, Software, and Operations teams is essential to develop and support new product solutions tailored to customer needs.

Key Duties:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of customer application requirements and propose control system designs that meet those needs.
  • Design automation control systems, which include power distribution, Short-Circuit Current Rating (SCCR) requirements, digital and analog I/O specifications, and motion control systems, ensuring thorough documentation and qualification through necessary tests and calculations.
  • Program PLCs, HMIs, and motion control systems effectively.
  • Oversee the complete design, testing, implementation, and documentation (schematics) of industrial automation systems.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing to ensure equipment aligns with mechanical engineering designs and customer specifications.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records for all relevant project information.
  • Comply with all safety and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist in the management of manual documentation related to control systems.
  • Conduct Safety Risk Assessments and design control systems based on the findings.
  • Continuously focus on enhancing speed to market and reducing costs.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in implementing, optimizing, and validating control systems, including PLCs and data acquisition systems.
  • Experience in designing machine safety systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or equivalent software.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Ladder Logic programming.
  • Experience in PLC programming.
  • Familiarity with Servo Drive systems, including commissioning and control from PLCs.
  • Experience in HMI development, including comfort panels, TIA Portal programming, HMI scripting for PLC communications, and recipe handling.
