Position Overview

As a Rental Technician, you will be responsible for delivering and retrieving equipment and supplies from customer job sites using vehicles under 26,000 pounds gross weight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loading, unloading, and securing equipment.
  • Transporting equipment and supplies over long distances.
  • Demonstrating proper equipment usage to customers upon delivery.
  • Servicing equipment as necessary to maintain optimal operating conditions.
  • Communicating effectively with customers and the Service Manager regarding equipment issues to ensure satisfaction.
  • Fueling equipment on-site as required.
  • Conducting safety inspections on equipment and maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Performing preventive maintenance as needed.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the work vehicle to ensure safety.
  • Adhering to all company and regulatory safety standards.
  • Completing inspection reports for outgoing and returned equipment, along with maintaining logs and trip sheets in compliance with D.O.T. and company requirements.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from customers and present information to management.
  • Mathematical skills for basic calculations.
  • Problem-solving abilities to collect data and draw conclusions.
  • Preferred 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tractor-trailer operation and hauling.
  • Ownership and safe use of mechanic's tools and equipment.
  • Familiarity with safety requirements for equipment handling and transport is advantageous.
  • Availability for a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends and holidays.

The physical demands of this role include bending, squatting, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working in various environments as required by the job. This description does not encompass all duties that may be assigned.
