About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Retail Safety Specialist to join our team at Ingka External. As a key member of our security and compliance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our people and property.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular safety and security audits and trainings to ensure compliance with local regulations.
  • Maintain critical safety equipment such as alarms, radios, and security systems.
  • Respond to and coordinate emergency situations, including burglar alarms, fire alarms, and active shooter events.
  • Report and follow up on incidents that occur.
  • Collaborate with our diverse team to detect potential risks early on and strengthen the IKEA brand through our focus on risk management, data protection, compliance, business operations, and health and safety.
Requirements
  • 2-3 years of relevant work experience in security, safety, loss prevention, and/or asset protection.
  • Strong de-escalation capabilities and keen eye for suspicious behavior.
  • Strong leadership capabilities and alignment with IKEA values.
  • Ability to work well with others and complete tasks independently.
  • Punctuality and responsibility.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Eligibility to obtain a security guard license (for candidates in New York, Oregon, and St. Louis, MO).
