Job Summary:

As a Dental Office Assistant at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. Under the supervision of the Dental Office Manager or their delegate, you will facilitate the timely and orderly process of serving patients from appointment scheduling to completion of office visit information.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Effectively communicate with patients and other office employees to provide excellent customer service.
  • Assist other staff members and providers as needed to ensure orderly and efficient patient care.
  • Explain to patients how they can access various information, such as the Information Center or their benefits office.
  • Represent Kaiser Permanente in a positive manner at all times.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Receive patients during check-in and check-out processes.
  • Maintain current daily schedules and document arrivals, cancellations, and reschedules.
  • Verify personal data on visit slips and update computer records as necessary.
  • Determine, explain, and collect fees for services rendered in accordance with individual patient benefits and the published fee schedule.
Requirements:
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to switch tasks frequently.
  • Professional telephone and patient reception manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two years of dental office experience.
  • Dental office and computer skills.
