Key Responsibilities

Core Duties:

  • Welcome all visitors and members entering the facility, ensuring proper identification protocols are followed.
  • Communicate and uphold all policies and procedures regarding access control, sales, and registrations to patrons.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of the programs and services provided by Campus Recreation Services to effectively assist patrons with inquiries about our facility, memberships, or offerings.
  • Conduct tours for current and prospective members of the Recreation Center.
  • Regularly monitor and ensure the cleanliness of the entire facility, including the lobby, fitness areas, equipment, locker rooms, and restrooms.
  • Understand and demonstrate competencies in the department's Emergency Action Plan.
  • Ensure the timely completion of facility laundry throughout the day.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Represent Campus Recreation Services with professionalism at all times.
  • Assist the Operations Supervisor and Professional Staff with various tasks as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate the ability to handle and accurately count cash while reconciling the cash drawer.
  • Process payments for guest passes and single-use towel services.

Equipment Management:

  • Reserve racquetball and squash courts for patrons.
  • Issue equipment using Club Automation.
  • Complete inventory checklists and notify the supervisor of any unreturned equipment.

Daxco Spectrum NG Responsibilities:

  • Accurately enter student and guest information into Club Automation.
  • Document all access control and Daxco: Spectrum issues.
  • Communicate pop-up messages to members and troubleshoot issues as necessary.

Administrative Duties:

  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions organized by Campus Recreation Services.
  • File all necessary forms in designated areas at the end of each shift.
  • Regularly check email for communications among Operations staff.
  • Monitor the intranet for announcements and updates affecting Operations staff.
  • Maintain a lost and found database to document items found within the Recreation Center and inquiries from patrons regarding lost items.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must be actively pursuing a degree at the institution.
  • Ability and willingness to enforce policies and manage conflicts effectively.
  • Strong customer service skills along with basic computer proficiency.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to obtain certification as a CPR/AED/FA Professional Rescuer through the American Red Cross.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements

Work Environment:

  • Office and fitness center environment.
  • Noise levels may range from moderate to loud.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing or walking.
  • Repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movements (while using computer equipment).
  • Occasional bending and stooping.
  • Good eye-hand coordination (keyboard typing).
  • Effective hearing and verbal communication.
