Job Summary

Braun Intertec is seeking a highly skilled Senior Traveling Construction Material Testing Technician to join our team. As a Senior Traveling Construction Material Testing Technician, you will be responsible for performing testing and observations on large commercial and industrial construction projects, preparing daily reports, and reviewing observation and test data for accuracy and completeness.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct testing and observations on large commercial and industrial construction projects to ensure compliance with client specifications and industry standards.
  • Prepare and submit daily reports on observation activities, including test results and any issues or concerns identified.
  • Review observation and test data for accuracy and completeness, and ensure that all data is properly documented and stored.
  • Assist with training and mentoring of junior staff as needed, and provide guidance and support to ensure that they are properly equipped to perform their duties.
  • Lead a team of technicians on large projects, providing direction and oversight to ensure that all testing and observation activities are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Work with project engineers and clients to ensure that client specifications are followed, and that all testing and observation activities are completed in accordance with industry standards.
Requirements
  • A valid driver's license and a good driving history are required.
  • Ability to travel extensively, working at project sites throughout the US.
  • Willingness to work long hours and weekends as required.
  • Previous large commercial or industrial project experience is preferred.
  • Technical expertise in electronic field data collection is required.
  • Excellent plan reading skills and high attention to detail are essential.
  • Understanding and experience with performing Special Inspections is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • iPad experience is a plus.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds is required.
Education and Certifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 2-5 years of construction materials testing and observation experience is preferred.
  • Minimum certifications include ICC Soils Special Inspector, ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector, ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector, and ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician I.
Preferred Certifications
  • ACI Concrete Strength I is preferred.
  • ICC Pre-stressed Concrete Special Inspector is preferred.
  • Nuclear Gauge / Radiation Safety is preferred.
