Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Recreation Therapist to join our team at the State of Wisconsin. As a Recreation Therapist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing therapeutic recreation programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized recreation therapy plans to promote independence and skill development.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Lead recreational activities and programs for assigned resident living or program areas.
  • Provide support and guidance to individuals with mental health disorders, physical disabilities, and intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of individualized recreation therapy plans and progress.
Requirements
  • Certification or eligibility for certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) within 6 months of hire.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet the requirements of the State of Wisconsin Fleet Vehicle Policy.
  • Experience working as part of an interdisciplinary team and implementing goal-oriented and individualized program plans.
  • Ability to work with individuals with diverse needs and abilities.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary range of $27.24 to $31.16 per hour (approximately $56,700 to $64,800 per year), depending on experience.
