Position Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Wayne Brothers Companies is seeking a dedicated Logistics Operations Manager to join our Industrial Services Group. This role is pivotal in optimizing procurement processes for our various divisions, including Concrete, Piping Systems, and Millwright Services. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership capabilities and a strong understanding of business operations.

The Logistics Operations Manager will lead the development of procurement and supply chain systems across all divisions within the Wayne Brothers Industrial Services Group. Success in this position requires a strategic mindset to identify essential staffing needs and create a sustainable organizational framework to support the fiscal growth of the Industrial Services Group. Key responsibilities include:

Tactical Procurement Responsibilities:

• Oversee the management of incoming and outgoing raw materials, ensuring quality inspections are conducted to address supplier discrepancies.

• Efficiently allocate work-in-progress materials and equipment to job sites.

• Implement effective inventory control measures and procedures to minimize waste.

• Develop and maintain asset tracking systems for equipment and tools.

• Ensure proper inventory management practices, including First-In, First-Out methods.

• Establish a systematic approach to managing consumables and small tools.

Strategic Procurement Responsibilities:

• Initiate supplier quality improvement initiatives in line with company standards.

• Conduct operational assessments for supplier qualifications and maintain an approved supplier list.

• Manage warranty and cost recovery processes.

• Develop standards for tooling management and coordinate preventive maintenance of equipment.

• Create competitive sourcing strategies to ensure cost-effectiveness while upholding material quality.

• Utilize technology to enhance material certification processes and traceability.

• Ensure compliance with industry standards for responsible sourcing.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Foster positive relationships with cross-functional teams, promoting open communication.

• Encourage a collaborative culture focused on continuous improvement.

• Build effective teams within the Procurement & Supply Chain framework to support long-term growth.

• Analyze supplier performance and implement necessary improvements.

• Engage proactively with various stakeholders to ensure the success of the Industrial Services Group.

• Drive initiatives for continuous improvement within the supply chain function, utilizing data-driven decision-making.

• Develop strategies to rationalize the supply base, minimizing risks and ensuring material continuity.

• Identify opportunities for automating and digitizing critical processes.

Position Requirements

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field is required.

• At least 8 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related fields.

• A minimum of 4 years in a leadership role within a supply chain or procurement environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with ERP/MRP software.

• Commitment to safety and best practices in the workplace.

Working Conditions

  • Frequent indoor and outdoor work.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Standard work hours may vary.

Certificates and Licenses:

• Valid driver's license is required.

• Relevant certifications in supply chain management are preferred.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.

• Compliance with safety standards and use of personal protective equipment is mandatory.
