Job Summary:

This Respiratory Care Supervisor role at Boston Children's Hospital is a key position in our team, responsible for supervising Respiratory Therapists and ECMO Specialists across various clinical programs and settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory care, with a focus on pediatric specialties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and evaluate staff performance, providing guidance and counseling as needed.
  • Oversee the operations of the Respiratory Care Department and ECMO Program, ensuring appropriate staffing and equipment levels.
  • Provide direct and consultative respiratory care and extracorporeal life support.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and serve as a department representative to clinical programs.

Requirements:
  • Current Massachusetts license as a Respiratory Therapist.
  • Current registration by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
  • Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) certification.
  • 4 years of clinical experience as a licensed respiratory therapist, with a minimum of 3 years in a pediatric specialty.
  • Completion of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation training, with 1-2 years of clinical experience as an Associate ECMO Specialist.
  • Associates Degree and/or Bachelor's Degree in a complementary field.
