HEALTHCARE OPERATIONS MANAGER - OB/GYN

PRIMARY LOCATION - TACOMA AND SATELLITE - PUYALLUP WA

Job Overview:

The Healthcare Operations Manager oversees the daily functions of multiple complex departments delivering outpatient patient care services. This role ensures that the team provides high-quality, accessible, and cost-effective care while adhering to local, state, and federal regulations. The manager is responsible for implementing and upholding clinical practice standards, managing budgets, and fostering staff development, all while delivering nursing and patient care services that align with business objectives and performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversees daily departmental operations, ensuring compliance with the Nurse Practice Act, NCQA, and all regulatory requirements.
  • Establishes and maintains patient care and quality service standards to meet the expectations of members and internal stakeholders.
  • Acts as an advocate for patients, addressing and resolving care-related issues.
  • Evaluates and recommends process improvements to enhance systems and patient care outcomes.
  • Assists in the development and monitoring of budgets and resource allocation.
  • Monitors financial performance, identifying strategies to reduce costs while improving quality of care and services.
  • Determines the optimal staffing mix for the department and develops processes for recruitment, training, and competency maintenance of staff.
  • Facilitates ongoing staff development initiatives.
  • Implements and monitors departmental policies and procedures that align with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Collaborates with physicians and department leaders to develop appropriate patient services and manage daily operations.
  • Assists in resolving human resource, labor relations, employee safety, and risk management issues.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience
  • At least two (2) years of management or supervisory experience, including lead or charge roles.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, public or business administration, or a related field, or four (4) years of relevant experience.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
License, Certification, Registration
  • N/A
Additional Requirements:
  • Strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of outpatient care practices and operations.
  • Familiarity with applicable regulatory standards.
  • Ability to demonstrate proficiency with electronic health records within six months of hire.
  • Ability to work effectively in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in healthcare management.
  • Current license in the state of WA as a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or other relevant healthcare credentials.
