Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Services Technician to join our team at Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT. As an Environmental Services Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients, families, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and disinfect assigned areas using department cleaning procedures.
  • Use cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
  • Understand procedures and properly dispose of infectious waste and trash.
  • Handle and clean up emergency spills per department guidelines as well as to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
  • Operate and maintain assigned equipment according to established procedures.
  • Maintain work and storage areas following established policy and procedures to ensure safety.
  • Use supplies appropriately and effectively.
  • Report problems with equipment and facility in an appropriate and timely manner.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated communication skills to include reading color coded labels and chemicals as well as following written and verbal directions.
  • Availability to work a flexible work schedule to meet the needs of the department.
Physical Requirements
  • Carrying, Lifting, Pulling/Pushing, Seeing, Speaking, Squatting/Kneeling, Standing, Walking
Work Environment

This is a very physical job and incumbent will be expected to stand/walk for 8 hours constantly. Will also need to be able to bend and get down and up easily. Needs to have good hand dexterity and be able to bend and lift loads. Needs to have good vision and attention to detail.
