Culinary Arts Faculty Job Description

Job Summary:

The Culinary Arts Faculty member will be responsible for teaching and developing curriculum for the Culinary Arts program at Sinte Gleska University. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts and experience in teaching and curriculum development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement curriculum for the Culinary Arts program, ensuring that it meets the standards of the American Culinary Federation and the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges.
  • Teach culinary arts courses, including food preparation, cooking methods, baking techniques, and cultural food preparation and cooking methods.
  • Provide instruction in safety and sanitation skills, as well as food safety and handling procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance, and conduct ongoing assessments of student progress.
  • Serve as a student academic advisor for the Culinary Arts program, providing guidance and support to students in their academic and career goals.
  • Communicate regularly with the Program Coordinator and other faculty members to ensure that the program is meeting its goals and objectives.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair or Dean.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the culinary industry, with a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.
  • Strong knowledge of culinary arts and food safety procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Working Conditions:

The Culinary Arts Faculty member will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with frequent exposure to heat, steam, and noise. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment and provide excellent customer service to students and colleagues.
