Heidelberg Materials is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to oversee the maintenance operations of our Fleetwood, PA facility. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Schedule and supervise maintenance personnel to ensure timely completion of tasks and meet production requirements.
  • Oversee the work performed by maintenance crews and outside contractors to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Manage urgent or breakdown jobs to minimize downtime and maintain equipment availability.
  • Develop and motivate direct reports to achieve a reliable and competent workforce.
  • Provide technical assistance to maintenance personnel to resolve problems efficiently.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance department to develop work schedules, equipment usage schedules, and procedures to meet overall plant goals.
  • Prepare material and labor estimates to develop project cost estimates and plant budgets.
  • Monitor the acquisition and use of materials to meet productivity and budgetary goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of time, work orders, materials, equipment, and other mechanical shop activities.
  • Determine training needs for employees and evaluate their skills, abilities, safety practices, and behavior to maintain necessary skills.
  • Plan staff schedules, including assigning work and overtime as required to meet maintenance needs.
  • Participate in the implementation of plant projects and provide input into the design and implementation of mechanical aspects to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timeliness.
  • Ensure adherence to plant rules of conduct, policies, and health and safety protocols during maintenance procedures to minimize injuries and lost time incidents.
  • Provide ongoing maintenance support to the plant for all shifts by participating in the on-call program, evaluating and determining the course of action for maintenance incidents, and supervising the resolution to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Ensure that maintenance department tools and equipment are in good working condition and that adequate stocks of consumables are maintained to allow maintenance activities to occur as scheduled.
Requirements
  • 5 years of mechanical repair and maintenance experience.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Prior experience working with heavy industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead others with or without direct authority.
  • Knowledge or understanding of SAP preferred.
  • Working knowledge and technical competency in the cement manufacturing process.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of MSHA regulations and guidelines.
  • Motivation, ability, and willingness to participate in the plant on-call schedule.
