Wound Care Nurse Specialist

At Select Medical, we are seeking a highly skilled Wound Care Nurse to join our team. As a Wound Care Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and promoting healing and recovery in a compassionate environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain high standards of wound care across our hospitals and programs.
- Develop and deploy evidence-based clinical protocols and algorithms to support optimal wound management outcomes.
- Collaborate with medical leadership on wound care initiatives, research questions, and outcome measures to drive program innovation and excellence.
- Design and deliver educational modules for wound care to enhance internal and external education, including patient and family teaching tools.
- Analyze patterns of wounds across programs and hospitals, identifying targeted quality improvement activities to improve wound outcomes and prevent pressure sore development.
- Develop and implement individual programs and courses to increase staff knowledge, competency, and credentials in support of job objectives and organizational goals.
- Coordinate competency evaluation and testing for professional staff in collaboration with clinical departments.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing and other clinical education programs.
- Maintain a database to track staff education, competency, and credentials, utilizing it to evaluate and plan for future educational activities and programs.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Nursing required.
- One year of related experience required.
- Valid State RN License.
- Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
- Must complete wound care training in the first 90 days in the role.
