Radiology Technologist, Staff

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist, Staff to join our team at WMC Health. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, including radiography, fluoroscopy, and computed tomography.

**Responsibilities:**

* Independently perform quality control procedures on imaging equipment to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and DNV standards of care.
* Competently operate all units of the section's imaging equipment while performing high-quality procedures in a safe and efficient manner.
* Review medical records for patient history and glean pertinent clinical information.
* Share appropriate or unusual information with radiologists.
* Transfer patients to imaging tables, explain procedures, and position patients according to protocol.
* Assist in the movement of patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, and beds to and from imaging equipment/tables.
* Assist other staff/departments.
* Perform preceptor responsibilities for new hires and instruct medical staff and students regarding technical procedures and unit operations.
* Confirm patient identification using at least two forms of identification as designated according to hospital policy.
* Perform procedures in a timely fashion and take the initiative to coordinate workflow.
* Provide radiation protection to patients, other staff, and self according to prescribed department safety standards.
* Track and verify all studies performed and sent to PACS/Radiologist in a timely manner.
* Practice sterile technique to prevent cross-contamination to patients, equipment, and instruments.
* Adhere to all standards of patient care.
* Assist radiologists, nursing, and/or other physicians in the performance of procedures as required.

**Requirements:**

* Completion of an approved ARRT program in Radiology.
* CPR certification.
* Registered Radiographic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists.
* Current License by New York State Department of Health.
* Appropriate Federal, State, and local licensing requirements.
