Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiology Technologist to join our team at MidHudson Regional Hospital. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging Department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality imaging procedures, working collaboratively with radiologists and other healthcare professionals, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently perform quality control procedures on imaging equipment to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and DNV standards of care.
  • Operate all units of the section's imaging equipment, performing high-quality procedures in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Review medical records for patient history, share pertinent clinical information with radiologists, and transfer patients to imaging tables.
  • Assist in the movement of patients to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, and beds to and from imaging equipment/tables.
  • Perform preceptor responsibilities for new hires and instruct medical staff and students regarding technical procedures and unit operations.
  • Confirm patient identification using at least two forms of identification as designated according to hospital policy.
  • Perform procedures in a timely fashion, take the initiative to coordinate workflow, and provide radiation protection to patients, other staff, and self.
  • Track and verify all studies performed and sent to PACS/Radiologist in a timely manner.
  • Practice sterile technique to prevent cross-contamination to patients, equipment, and instruments.
  • Adhere to all standards of patient care and assist radiologists, nursing, and other physicians in the performance of procedures as required.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively function as a healthcare team member.
  • Demonstrated skills necessary to perform teaching and leadership duties as required within the job description.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills and ability to work effectively and efficiently in stressful situations.
  • Completion of an approved ARRT program in Radiology.
  • CPR certification.
  • Registered Radiographic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists.
  • Current License by New York State Department of Health.
  • Appropriate Federal, State, and local licensing requirements.
