Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker III to join our facilities operations team at the University of Texas at Dallas. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing maintenance and repair services for our buildings and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment, and systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Assist with the installation and modification of building equipment systems, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Maintain lighting systems, including cleaning fixtures and replacing bulbs and lamps.
  • Respond to emergency situations and perform repairs as needed.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to complete tasks and projects.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify areas that need attention and perform tasks to address those needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; four years of experience in general maintenance duties or trade school; licenses as required.
  • Valid Texas Driver's license and a good driving record required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of three or more years in facility maintenance operations or related experience or training in building maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of and experience with electrical, plumbing, inventory supervision, general building maintenance, and repair skills.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
