Special Education Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at RHA Health Services. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing educational services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental health, and substance use challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate the educational needs of service users and develop individualized programs to meet those needs.
- Participate in the Interdisciplinary Team to ensure provision of quality services and develop educational training programs.
- Conduct and monitor training and behavioral programs, and design curriculum and activities for the classroom.
- Document progress notes and revise plans as needed to facilitate ongoing progress on objectives.
- Develop special activities educationally appropriate for clients on your caseload and plan educational outings/field trips.
- Ensure supply of educational materials for use in the classroom and work with representatives from other departments to address the total needs of each service user.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field in early childhood education with adaptive curriculum.
- Valid North Carolina driver's license and personal auto liability insurance (if transporting service users in private/personal vehicle(s)).
- Maintain certification through the Department of Public Instruction and proficiency in company-sponsored training.
