Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator III to join our team at the City of Clovis, NM. As a key member of our Public Works department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our wastewater treatment facilities and collection system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyze wastewater and sludge samples to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on treatment facility machinery and equipment.
  • Inspect and maintain laboratory facilities and equipment.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal plant performance.
  • Supervise and train junior operators to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Develop and manage budgets for wastewater division operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Requirements
  • Three (3) years of hands-on experience in wastewater treatment operations.
  • Valid New Mexico Commercial Drivers' license and Class III Wastewater Operators Certificate.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
