Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Geospatial Analyst to join our team at RTI International. The successful candidate will have a strong background in GIS and experience working with geospatial data.

Responsibilities
  • Compile, process, and analyze geospatial data to produce derived products, maps, statistics, and other information.
  • Work independently to achieve day-to-day objectives with significant impact on operational results or project deliverables.
  • Responsible for major tasks on complex projects or processes within a technical area.
  • May be responsible for coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level technical staff.
  • Advises on the development of solutions that require collaboration with internal and external experts and deep analyses and understanding of impact on end-product/solution.
  • Provides hands-on technical assistance to partners and supports facilitation of partner meetings.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Master's degree with at least 3 years of experience analyzing geographic information about the earth's coasts, oceans, and Great Lakes or equivalent.
  • Experience providing technical and analytical assistance to address a variety of climate resilience issues.
  • Demonstrated technical, operational, and project management skills.
  • Must be able to work from a coastal community anywhere in the defined Region.
Skills and Abilities
  • Expert GIS user with ArcGIS or similar (e.g. QGIS).
  • Ability to automate a series of methods using Model Builder or Python to be more productive.
  • Expert skills with MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to listen and communicate well both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to take direction and to complete tasks under given time constraints.
