The YMCA of Middle Tennessee is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Swim Instructor to join our team. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching swim lessons to individuals of all ages and skill levels, while ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach swim lessons to individuals and groups, following YMCA swim lesson programs and guidelines
  • Provide feedback and encouragement to students, promoting a positive and supportive learning environment
  • Ensure the safety of participants by maintaining a safe and risk-free environment, adhering to all pool and YMCA rules and policies
  • Prepare and deliver lesson plans, incorporating a logical progression and constructive teaching methods
  • Communicate regularly with participants and their parents, providing progress updates and feedback
  • Build relationships with members, volunteers, and staff, promoting a culture of service and community

Requirements

  • Minimum 16 years of age
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
  • Demonstrate intermediate swimming ability
  • Lifeguard and Swim Instructor certifications preferred
