Job Summary:

The YMCA of Middle Tennessee is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Swim Instructor to join our team. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching swimming lessons to individuals of all ages and skill levels, while ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach swimming lessons to individuals and groups, using a variety of teaching methods and techniques.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of participants, while promoting water safety and swimming skills.
  • Provide feedback and encouragement to participants, while maintaining a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Ensure the safety of participants at all times, while following YMCA policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a smooth and efficient operation of the swim program.
  • Attend training sessions and meetings as required, to stay up-to-date on YMCA policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Intermediate swimming ability required.
  • Lifeguard and Swim Instructor certifications preferred.

Working Conditions:

The Swim Instructor will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to water and potential hazards. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential. The YMCA of Middle Tennessee is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates.
