We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Anatomic and Clinical Pathologist to join our team at Quest Diagnostics Incorporated. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for providing professional oversight and direction of clinical pathology services, including quality assurance functions, medical directorship, and technical direction.
Key Responsibilities- Provide accurate and timely diagnosis of the presence and stage of disease from a tissue specimen, utilizing appropriate laboratory procedures.
- Confer with other physicians as needed to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Assign the appropriate Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and ICD-9 codes for the service(s) provided and the diagnosis rendered, following authoritative coding guidelines and Company coding policies.
- Take the initiative to improve quality in the workplace and participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities to ensure quality care.
- Actively build upon education and experience through Continuing Medical Education (CME) to maintain licensure/credentials.
- Manage medical, associate, and financial resources wisely and provide others with the support necessary to successfully accomplish daily activities while monitoring and controlling costs.
- Provide advice to referring physicians regarding the clinical significance of laboratory findings.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information concerning patients, physicians, employees, clients, vendors, and the Company.
- Provide educational services, conferences, and instruction where required.
- Comply with all State, Federal, professional regulations as well as Company rules, policies, and procedural manuals.
- Doctorate Degree (Required)
- Board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology or dermatology (Required)
- Hold active privileges in facility where any inpatient work is interpreted (Required)
- Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state where practice is located or be eligible to obtain licensure (Required)
