Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Activity Therapist PRN to join our team at Southcoast Behavioral Health. As a key member of our interdisciplinary treatment team, you will be responsible for planning, directing, and implementing activity therapy programs that promote patient progress and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Activity Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' needs, skills, interests, and limitations to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Program Development and Implementation: Plan, organize, and direct activities that promote patient progress and well-being, including therapeutic leisure skills, leisure education, and leisure awareness.
  • Facilitation and Leadership: Facilitate and lead activity sessions to improve patient mental and physical well-being, and instruct patients in activities and techniques tailored to their specific needs.
  • Treatment Planning and Implementation: Develop and implement treatment plans that meet patient needs and interests, and help patients achieve their treatment goals.
  • Engagement and Social Skills Development: Engage patients in therapeutic activities, such as exercise, games, and community outings, and help them develop social skills needed to become or remain independent.
Requirements
  • Certifications and Licenses: Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or currently in the process of obtaining national certification; or certified in the area of specialty (Art, Dance, Music, etc.) or clinical professional licensure (LCPC, LPC, etc.) with certification in expressive therapy area required.
  • CPR and De-escalation Certification: CPR and de-escalation and restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).
  • First Aid Certification: First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.
