Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Mass Spectrometry Laboratory Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our mass spectrometry laboratory. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mass spectrometry, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of laboratory best practices.
Laboratory Operations Management- Supervise and coordinate daily activities within the mass spectrometry lab, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of mass spectrometry instruments and related equipment.
- Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of analytical data.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to laboratory staff, including training on mass spectrometry techniques, data analysis, and instrument operation.
- Develop and implement new methodologies and protocols to improve laboratory capabilities and efficiency.
- Review and interpret complex data generated from mass spectrometry experiments, ensuring that results meet project objectives and quality standards.
- Work closely with project managers, scientists, and other stakeholders to design and execute mass spectrometry experiments that support research and development goals.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of results and effective communication with cross-functional teams.
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of scientists and technicians, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify opportunities for professional development.
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and documentation of experimental results for internal and external stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in Chemistry.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in mass spectrometry, including hands-on experience with various mass spectrometers.
- Demonstrated expertise in method development, validation, and troubleshooting of mass spectrometry techniques.
