Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at Commonwealth Pain & Spine. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our healthcare professionals, ensuring the smooth operation of our medical practice, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Triage and Patient Preparation: Perform vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, weight, and height, at each patient visit.
  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Management: Sit down with patients and complete designated areas of the EMR system.
  • Medication Coordination: Coordinate blood thinner medicines for procedures with cardiologists and post-op pain medicines with patient surgeons.
  • Provider Support: Monitor provider buckets in Athena, provide patient information to providers prior to patient evaluation, and introduce patients to providers.
  • Administrative Tasks: Enter all pertinent patient information and notes in EMR software, scan and upload patient paperwork, and prepare evaluation and procedure rooms for patient encounters.
  • Recovery and Discharge: Care for patients in recovery, assist with pain procedures, and escort patients to their vehicles after check-out.
  • Travel and Flexibility: Willing to travel to other offices as needed and arrive at least 15 minutes before the first patient to prepare the work site.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties assigned, including tasks for affiliates, assigns, lessees, contractors, or other third parties.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a related healthcare role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with EMR systems.
