Medical Assistant

As a Medical Assistant at UofL Health, you will play a vital role in delivering patient-centered care. Your responsibilities will include patient triage, vital signs, patient history, EKG, injections, and using the electronic health record. You will work closely with our team to provide high-quality care to our patients.
Responsibilities:
• Obtain medical history and triage patients
• Record vital signs and patient information
• Reconcile medication lists in the electronic health record
• Respond timely and appropriately to tasks
• Give injections per physician order
• Report any abnormal results to the physician immediately
• Maintain clean exam rooms
• Comply with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain patient confidentiality
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED), required
• Medical Assisting certification from a nationally recognized organization, required
• Medical Assisting Degree, preferred
• Minimum one year of working in a medical facility as a medical assistant and/or documented evidence of externship completed in a medical office, preferred
Certification:
• Basic Life Saving (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA), required
Working Conditions:
Working conditions are normal for a healthcare environment.
