Job Summary:

As a Medical Assistant at UofL Health, you will play a vital role in delivering patient-centered care. Your responsibilities will include patient triage, vital signs, patient history, EKG, injections, and using the electronic health record.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain medical history, triage patients, record vitals.
  • Reconcile medication list in EHR.
  • Responds timely and appropriately to tasks.
  • Gives injections per physician order.
  • Reports any abnormal results to physician immediately.
  • Maintains clean exam rooms.
  • Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
  • Adheres to organizational policy and procedure.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED), required.
  • Medical Assisting certification from a nationally recognized organization, required.
  • Medical Assisting Degree, preferred.
  • Minimum one year of working in a medical facility as a medical assistant, preferred.
  • Electrocardiogram (EKG), vital signs, venipuncture, capillary, and injection experience.
  • Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification, required.
