Purpose

To provide exceptional support to graduate students in the Department of Computer Science, ensuring their timely progress towards degree completion. This role will facilitate the execution of programs and services, aligning with the department's academic mission.

Responsibilities
  • Student Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for a caseload of graduate students, providing in-depth information, clarification, and interpretation of institutional and graduate program rules and regulations.
  • Administrative: Maintain a tracking system to assess and evaluate graduate program effectiveness, student retention, grade point averages, and academic outcomes. Use data to inform faculty regarding graduate student progress and ensure compliance with institutional rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Event Planning: Co-coordinate event planning for prospective and admitted student campus visit events, organize and attend departmental PhD graduation events, and facilitate PhD and master's student orientation.
  • Admissions: Support faculty committees and graduate program administrators on PhD and master's student recruitment and admissions processes.
  • Additional Duties: Attend graduate events and functions after hours or on weekends as needed to provide support and oversight.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Five years of experience working as a graduate coordinator with college students in an administrative or advising capacity. Outstanding customer service skills, proven ability to work with diverse populations, and demonstrated ability to organize and manage large volumes of data.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in counseling, educational administration, or a related field. Knowledge of computer science curriculum, experience developing and implementing new initiatives for graduate student recruitment and placement, and prior experience with event planning.

Salary Range

$60,000 + depending on qualifications
