The Housing Operative is responsible for ensuring the upkeep of rental properties and additional assets owned by Harrison Steel Castings Co. This role involves a variety of landscaping and maintenance tasks as detailed below.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining lawns through regular cutting.
  • Trimming and edging around pathways, flower beds, and structures.
  • Pruning shrubs and trees to enhance growth and remove any damaged foliage.
  • Applying fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides to lawns, shrubs, and trees.
  • Managing leaf disposal through raking and bagging or burning.
  • Cleaning outdoor areas and eliminating litter.
  • Removing snow from walkways and driveways.
  • Applying salt on public pathways to mitigate ice formation.
  • Planting grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs as needed.
  • Watering lawns and shrubs to ensure proper hydration.
  • Repairing fences, gates, walls, and walkways.
  • Painting fences and ancillary structures.
  • Clearing drainage ditches and culverts to maintain proper water flow.
  • Sharpening tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, and shears for optimal performance.
  • Conducting minor repairs on equipment including lawn mowers and snow removal tools.
  • Adhering to job work instructions and training protocols as applicable.
