Position Summary: The Auto Body Parts Assistant is essential to the seamless functioning of our auto body repair facility. This role involves overseeing parts inventory, aiding in parts identification, and confirming the accuracy of parts received for vehicle repairs. Your meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational abilities will be critical in supporting our auto body repair professionals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Oversight: Monitor and manage the inventory of parts received for repair orders.
  • Parts Verification: Unpack and inspect all parts to ensure the correct auto body components have been received.
  • Storage Management: Maintain cleanliness and organization in parts storage areas. Properly label and store parts for easy retrieval.
  • Record Keeping: Keep precise documentation of parts received and verified for accuracy.
  • Team Support: Collaborate with auto body technicians to guarantee the availability of necessary parts and assist with any parts-related inquiries during vehicle repairs.
  • Quality Assurance: Examine received parts for any damage or inconsistencies and manage returns or exchanges as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in automotive or parts management is advantageous.
  • Experience: Previous experience in auto body parts or automotive repair is preferred but not mandatory. On-the-job training will be provided.
  • Skills:
    • Familiarity with auto body parts and automotive repair procedures.
    • Exceptional organizational and time-management capabilities.
    • Strong communication and customer service skills.
    • Proficiency in using computer systems for inventory management and order processing.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to lift and transport heavy parts, and perform tasks that require standing, bending, and reaching.

Work Environment:

  • Operate in an auto body shop setting with exposure to automotive chemicals and noise.
  • Standard working hours with potential for overtime as necessary.
