GENERAL FUNCTION

QUALIFICATIONS

To effectively fulfill this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Associate of Applied Science Degree or higher with a professional designation as a Paramedic
  • Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic
  • Mississippi Certified EMT - Paramedic
  • At least two (2) years of clinical experience
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, include but are not limited to:

Stay informed about diversity-related matters, legislation, and best practices.

Maintain current professional credentials and certifications as required in the field.

Adhere to the execution of college, center, division, and program policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Employ teaching strategies that promote active learner engagement.

Utilize advanced technology in educational settings, including classrooms, laboratories, simulation centers, and clinical environments.

Complete necessary professional development activities by established deadlines.

Keep and provide up-to-date documentation of all professional requirements.

Professional Conduct

Exhibit professional behavior suitable for the teaching and learning environment.

Consistently adhere to College policies and procedures.

Follow Nursing and Allied Health procedures and guidelines consistently.

Demonstrate fairness in assessing and evaluating students.

Collaborate with colleagues to enhance educational experiences.

Take responsibility for personal actions and behaviors.

Be receptive to feedback and incorporate it into annual goal development.

Engage in student/faculty and faculty/administrator evaluations and performance review discussions.

Maintain professional boundaries with students in all interactions.

Actively participate in program assessment and evaluation, including College annual planning and accreditation activities.

Attendance Requirements

Fulfill assigned hours (including campus and clinical responsibilities) during each contracted semester.

Attend all scheduled classes, labs, simulations, and clinical assignments.

Arrive punctually and remain for the designated duration of all duty days.

Notify the immediate supervisor promptly of any unplanned tardiness or absence.

Participate in general faculty, center, division, and program meetings as schedule permits.

Communication

Check College email regularly during the workweek and respond promptly.

Provide timely feedback to students.

Maintain confidentiality regarding student information.

Submit required documentation by established deadlines.

Utilize the program chain of command to address issues or concerns, following College Policy, Procedure, and Personnel Manual.

Professional Appearance

Present oneself in accordance with the established Hinds Community College Dress Code.

Adhere to program-specific dress code requirements.

Follow clinical agency dress code requirements as specified by clinical guidelines.
