About Us:
The Safety & Industrial Hygiene division is dedicated to safeguarding the health and safety of our workforce. This is achieved through thorough hazard evaluations, risk mitigation strategies, engineering controls, and adherence to regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate potential workplace hazards within research initiatives and develop strategies to minimize employee exposure and accidents.
- Conduct project assessments focusing on Process Safety Management, identifying hazards, and implementing engineering solutions.
- Enhance the organization's safety protocols to ensure comprehensive protection for all employees.
- Collaborate with teams to execute safety and health programs and maintain compliance with regulations.
Daily Duties:
- Facilitate and participate in risk assessments for workplaces and projects to identify, analyze, and mitigate risks.
- Design and coordinate training sessions on risk analysis methodologies as necessary.
- Supervise the application of Process Safety Management (PSM) standards when applicable and assist Program Managers in adopting PSM best practices in projects.
- Utilize knowledge of chemistry and physics to evaluate projects, ensuring the mitigation of hazardous conditions and compatibility of materials used.
- Support Incident Investigation teams in analyzing safety incidents and contribute to the development of process tools and action plans to address identified safety gaps.
- Provide Emergency Response assistance as needed.
- Create and deliver safety training for staff regarding process safety and OSHA regulations.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Process Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, or Public Health is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Process Safety Management, Hazard Analyses, OSHA compliance, and/or Industrial Hygiene.
- Minimum of 3 years of knowledge in chemistry and its implications for processes and potential employee exposures.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with chemical and engineering principles and integrated risk assessments related to safety, health, and environmental protection.
- A valid driver's license is mandatory.
