Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a vital member of our healthcare team at Altru Health. You will also identify discharge planning and education needs, communicate patient progress, and adjust your workload accordingly.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist registered nurses or other licensed practitioners in identifying patient needs, priorities of care, and goals based on patient age, ethnic origin, economic status, lifestyle, creed, or philosophical beliefs.
Contribute to the evaluation of the plan of care by gathering, observing, recording, and communicating patient responses to nursing interventions.
Modify the plan of care in collaboration with licensed practitioners.
Demonstrate competency and ability to carry out department-specific functions in accordance with department standards of care, policies, and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department/organization.

Requirements:

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification from the North Dakota Board of Nursing (NDBON) or Compact State Agreement.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) within 90 days of start date.
IV Certification Course completion within 6 months of start date.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Working Conditions:

Work in a hospital setting with occasional exposure to infectious diseases.
Stand, walk, and move frequently throughout the shift.
Use manual dexterity to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and reaching.
Work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
