KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

THERAPY:

Design and deliver tailored individual, group, and classroom-based therapeutic services to students in alignment with their speech and language objectives as outlined in their Individual Education Plans (IEP).

Assess the effectiveness and outcomes of therapy interventions to monitor student progress and determine readiness for the conclusion of therapy services.


ASSESSMENT:

Conduct thorough evaluations to identify students with speech or language disorders and establish eligibility for services based on their individual needs.

Formulate clinical management strategies and diagnostic statements by analyzing observations and data.

CONSULTATION:
Engage and guide caregivers throughout the evaluation and therapeutic processes.

Collaborate with classroom educators and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement classroom activities that enhance students' communication skills across various educational settings.

Provide professional development to school personnel to help them recognize and understand communication challenges in students.
Participate in in-service training and team meetings.
Communicate effectively with colleagues, students, and parents regarding therapy goals and educational requirements.

Contribute to the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process by assisting in the interpretation of assessment data, appropriate placement, and goal setting for students with communication disorders in accordance with district protocols.


STUDENT & CASE MANAGEMENT:
Foster a learning environment that is safe academically, emotionally, and physically.

Prepare and submit all necessary case documentation, including evaluation data, treatment plans, clinical notes, and billing information in compliance with company policies.

Maintain accurate and confidential client case notes and reports.

Keep an attendance register as per the IEP and Individual Service Agreement (ISA) for each student.

Adapt educational materials and tools to provide effective interventions tailored to individual student needs.
Collect data on student achievements to document activities and prepare reports or update IEP logs.

Maintain a variety of manual and electronic materials (e.g., charts, logs, records, and reports) to document activities and comply with mandated requirements.

Ensure the proper functioning of high and low-tech augmentative communication devices and have familiarity with symbol-based software such as Boardmaker Online.
Research resources and methodologies to address students' functional goals.
Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the work of speech-language pathology assistants.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Current, active TX state license as a Speech Language Pathologist, or eligibility for licensure.
DOJ/FBI Live Scan Background & TB Clearance
Proficient in standard software applications and internet use
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent language and communication abilities, including professional writing and telephone etiquette.
